ENTRIES are coming in fast for the Cancer Research UK 10km run at Strathclyde Park.
Event organiser Helen Webster is urging people to sign up before the entry limit is reached.

The run is on Sunday, October 26, and Helen said: "We want to warn people that they will have to be quick to secure their spot on the starting line.

"Running 10k is a good target for many people with a bit of training and completing the distance will give them a great sense of achievement."

This year Cancer Research UK, supported by Tesco, is hoping that 50,000 men and women will run its 10ks nationwide and raise £5 million to help fund research.

There are 41 events across the UK and the Cancer Research UK website provides training support to ensure participants cross the finish line with a huge smile.

It's hoped the Strathclyde Park event will see 2,300 participants raising more than £133,000 towards research into cancer.

Helen added: "We need local people to rise to the challenge of taking part in Run 10k and to help us continue our life-saving work.

"This is why we're urging people in the Motherwell and Bellshill areas to come and join us and to challenge their friends and family to take part with them."
